TLD / Font Duplex 2010 / 01.02.2010

Constructed using the full range of ‘bricks’ available in FontStruct, Font Duplex is a typographic experiment in legibility – as we restricted each character to only two bricks.

Now available on FontStruct. © The Letter D.

TLD / Font Space 2009 / 06.06.2009

lss_fontspace

While creating the full signage suite for Lightspace a block typeface presented itself within the exposed blockwork walls onsite, which we’ve used as a bold contrast to the tubular identity, drawn in Font Route.

Using FontStruct’s engine Font Theo Fine’s upper-case was altered, bevelling the corners of each block, with various symbols revised and the toilet pictograms added.

The typeface has so far been used on the Lightspace website and various collateral.

TLD / Font Pixel family grows / 17.04.2009

fontpixel_fs

The whole Font Pixel family came together over the Easter break, with a bold weight, small caps, oblique (italics) and a set of old-style (non-lining) numerals added – and to top it all off, the team at FontStruct have given it ‘Top Pick’ status…

As Trade Gothic (the typeface Font Pixel was based on) lacks a true italic, an oblique version was created, which was heavily influenced by Unibody Italic from Underware – who mastered the illusion of incline using vertically stacked pixels.

TLD / Font Airport on FontStruct / 19.11.2008

tld_fs_fa

After numerous requests, which we thank all for their interest and persist… sorry patience, we have finally been able to compile Font Airport using FontStruct’s tools.

The upper and lower cases overlap to enable the full matrix to take shape in two tones, for those who are inclined to give it a whirl.

TLD / FontStruct / 15.07.2008

tld_fs_edit

Apart from the odd dabble, we never really got around to digitising the typefaces shown on the old website…

Now there’s an online application that turns it into child’s play – so that’s what we did. The fruits of our labour are now available on FontStruct. Big thanks to Rob Meek.

REI / Website Bookings / 03.12.2007

rei_cart

With the increase in Art Education events planned for Michael Reid in 2008, a more efficient system for client bookings was required so the staff could handle the influx…

The Letter D was asked to integrate an online ‘Cart’ system into the website, while reviewing the user registration path and form design.

The recently opened arts, objects and interiors store in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, A Day on Earth, asked The Letter D to develop a collateral system for upcoming exhibitions and media releases.

A simple full cover photo with the shop’s ubiquitous swing tag will be used to portray the subject of each event, with a website underway…

A full suite of documentation forms were developed for Hartley Shopfitters to integrate the new identity and also shake-up the old generic journal pads used throughout the office.
